Today was Wild BC Seafood Festival down in sunny Steveston and I must admit I had troubles parking on the streets of our village. The amount of salmon that was sold must have been a record one day sale ever. The park in front of the Gulf Of Georgia was packed with people sitting around listening to the music by ” Darren Specht And The Blueshawks ” or sampling the Pacific Sardines put on offers. A good time by everybody once they found a spot to park, I can assume tomorrow will bring the crowds again as the local Farmer’s Market is on. - Dave

In July 2004, the City of Richmond signed a proclamation to take a lead role in the development of the Long Track Speed Skating Venue for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. With a vision to create a unique destination and international gathering place for wellness and sports excellence, the City developed the blueprints for a breathtaking venue on the banks of the Fraser River that would be a hallmark of sustainability, accessibility and world-class sportsmanship – The Richmond Olympic Oval. More than a spectacular venue for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the Oval also signifies a major investment in the overall health and wellbeing of the diverse community of Richmond. London Heritage Farm is a heritage site of 4.6 acres overlooking the south arm of the Fraser River. A lovely 1890s farmhouse was built on the site by the London family and has been completely restored and fully furnished for that period. Around the house are fragrant herb and flower gardens – a beautiful setting for strolling, picnics or to just enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. Other attractions on the site include the restored Spragg family barn, hand tool museum, tea room, 1910 buggy and 1952 Ferguson tractor.
